A serving Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with rape following an investigation by Surrey Police.
PC Dion Arnold, attached to the South West Command Unit, was charged with four counts of rape, two counts of assault by penetration and one count of sexual assault on 31 March.
He appeared at Guildford Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody to next appear at Guildford Crown Court on 1 May.
The charges relate to a report made earlier this year, and conduct while PC Dion Arnold was off duty, the Metropolitan Police said.
The Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed and the officer has been suspended from duty, the force added.
